Patrice wanted something different.
Some might agree that gathering nine young women decked out in sequins and feathers for a group photo is different enough from year to year.
It is the only time during high school football season Miss Buck, Miss Comet, Miss Invader, Miss Knight, Miss Trojan, Miss Viking, Miss Spartan, Miss Chief and Miss Devilette will collectively get together decked out in their representational regalia. There’s a good chance these leading ladies may cross paths on game day as they represent their home schools during football pregame or halftime shows.
This year, staff writer Patrice Wilding, who coordinates and interviews the featured performers, wanted more. And that’s exactly what she got with the help of graphic artist/ photographer/ illustrator and all around creative soul Bob Sanchuk.

In the end, this year’s special edition is different thanks to Patrice and Bob. The spectacular layouts on the cover and inside the edition are different. The bonus story is different. In addition, the proud, talented young women serving their schools bring something different season after season.
There is one thing that remains the same.
Behind the glam and glitter of the titles, the featured performers represent the pride of a region rich in school tradition and the devotion of the thousands in their school district communities.
