There’s a cool tool on the internet that lets you take a trip back in time.
The Internet Archives website has a feature it calls the “Wayback Machine” where you can see pretty much what a certain webpage looked like years ago. However, there are limitations. It only has the days that their automated crawlers saved certain sites. For example, thetimes-tribune.com has been saved 338 times since 2005.
I wanted to see if there was anything for our site from past years for today’s date. And there was, December 12, 2010.
The top headline was exciting to see: Riverside rolls to state title game
It meant something special to me because it was the first state championship I shot video for that was included in The Times-Tribune’s coverage. (watch it here)
Coincidentally, I will be making that trip again tomorrow when Riverside’s neighbor, Old Forge, plays for their chance to be state champs. No matter the outcome, the journey any of local team’s bid to earn a state title is an unforgettable experience.
